Know about the SBI PO Exam Pattern

The SBI Bank to hire its employees, have a tiered exam that is one of the toughest examination in the banking sector. Here’s a look at the much talked about the exam pattern.

SBI PO selection procedure is a 3 tiered exam. Step I of which is a preliminary exam, cracking which land you in the second step of Main. The final step of the exam is the group discussion and interview round.

Step I-Preliminary Exam

The preliminary exams is a hundred marks objective paper and are conducted online. The duration to solve the paper is one hour and the subjects covered are English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. Each question carries one mark. A negative mark of 0.25 will be given for every wrong answer.

Step II-Main Exam

The main is further divided into two- Objective and Descriptive.

Objective Paper

The objective paper is of 200 marks and is also conducted online. The duration to solve it is 3 hours and has 4 sections- Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General Economics & Banking Awareness and English Language. Like the preliminary exam, here too each correct answer carries one mark and for every negative, 0.25 marks is deducted.

 Descriptive Paper

The online exam is for thirty minutes and carries 50 marks. The test is about writing skills in English. It will have an essay and letter writing test. The descriptive paper will start immediately after the objective paper ends.

Step III- Group Discussion and Interview

Once you have cleared the Main exam, you shall get the call for the third and final round. The group discussion carries 20 marks and the interview carries 30 marks.
